Occupational Therapy

Kim Armitage OTR MOT

Occupational Therapy addresses the functional skills needed for playing and interacting with others, is useful when managing behaviors by improving the regulation of the sensory systems, is appropriate to address the self-help skills for feeding and potty training and is always beneficial for brain development to enhance cognitive understanding.

Consult Services

Consult Services provide information about the skills the child currently has, and emerging skills.  This is helpful for parents and caregivers as they can begin introducing new activities and can direct play to ensure the child is meeting all the developmental milestones.

The visit consists of an informal assessment to ensure child is on track developmentally in all six areas of development.

Home Evaluations

Home Evaluations are completed when a bathroom needs modification for a person with a disability.

We also do  home evaluations if a person is in need of a wheelchair ramp.  Some insurance companies may cover the ramp if there is an occupational therapy evaluation to determine medical necessity.
